My name is Dan Sloan and I am an avid advocate of urban and rural agroforestry.  I run Portland Food Forest Initiative and am focused on bringing food forests to the urban Portland metro area to replace grass lawns with thriving abundant ecosystems that provide valuable green spaces, habitat, fresh organic, nutrient-dense produce for all people regardless of access to power or social status.  

Growing edible plants is a passion of mine, especially unusual an delicious fruiting trees and shrubs.  I'm always amazed at the potential energy stored within a seed to grow into a fully living being.  I'm called to do everything in my power to create a more beautiful and abundant world and inspire others to do the same.
